Entrance fees are a difficult subject. On one hand it’s logical to keep the PL accessible for people with a small budget. On the other hand, it’s quite a challenge to organise it, and there’s no getting around making a bunch of expenses. Most people don’t ask full price, but still: the campsite isn’t free*, there’s printing costs, stands need to be rented, there’s some travel expenses, something might break that needs to be replaced or repaid, etcetera.

A weekend ticket has been 20 euro’s for years, 12,50 for a weekend. Every prices anywhere has risen, but the PL hasn’t changed.

And to be fair: we do get by. Only júst, but we do. When we have 300 visitors, we break even. But that means we have to do everything as cheap as possible. De budget is véry tight, and that sometimes shows in the quality of the PL.
For instance: at the moment we can’t cover all the travel expenses for people contributing to the program. Let alone decently paying musicians. Luckily most people doing workshops don’t ask to be covered, cause they were coming to Appelscha anyway**. But say we wanted to get a speaker or collective from a bit further away, we wouldn’t have the budget.
There’s a bunch of cases like these where the lack of funds puts a brake on the organisation and development of the PL.

That’s why we’re upping the prices. That sucks, but we think it’s needed and not out of proportion. Cause ofcourse: it has to be possible for the less affluent to attend. But if we’re honest, there’s a bunch of PL-regulars for whom 20 isn’t a lot of euro’s. To give a bit of perspective: outside of the PL camping on the site for three nights with one person and a small tent would run you 18 euro’s. Without using power.

The standard fee is gonna be 30 euro’s, or 15 for a day. But: it’s also fine to pay 20 or 40, if that better fits your situation. For a day that’ll be 10 and 20.
We leave that decision up to you, no questions asked. We trust that anarchists are honest with stuff like this..

We ask for your understanding in all of this. This tenner is gonna give the budget some air, and make it possible to make the PL even better in the coming years.
